Studio Chenchen: Design Studio
Today I’m featuring Olivia Chen & Sam Wearne of Studio Chenchen. They are a husband-and-wife duo who provide branding and design services to clients across the globe.
What I think is most impressive about this site is how quirky it is. These creatives go all in on sharing their unique style and really succeed in catching the attention of their audience. You also get a strong sense of their beliefs and values throughout their site, and that’s a big part of what makes it compelling.
They include a lot of important sections in their About page which can be an inspiration to other designers, such as a design philosophy statement, their design approach, and a description of how they work with clients. They even describe their ideal client, which is a nice way to help people decide if it’s a good fit right away. Their writing is clear and concise but still uses powerful words to convey their message.
So they draw us in with surprising imagery and cool animations, but then keep our attention by giving us the information we want in a clear, powerful, and fun way. It’s the perfect combination!
It can be difficult to figure out what makes you different and have the courage to share it boldly, like Studio Chenchen does. My Portfolio Writing Workbook includes self-reflection questions and writing exercises to support you on your journey of discovery. Embracing what makes you unique can give you the confidence to stand out and get noticed.
